Welcome Back to EW Pratt Parent(s) and/or Guardian(s)!

We are excited to welcome everyone, new and returning, to the 2021-2022 school year.  As a division and a school, we have been working to ensure a safe and healthy start to the school year.  This includes updates to our Re-Entry Handbook, policies and procedures to ensure a safe and caring environment for your children to return to.  As you know, the response to COVID-19 must be flexible to meet the current needs of the community and school. •  Masking: At this time the government has mandated mask use for all students riding the bus.  Mask use inside HPSD school buildings remains optional at this time.  Please be advised that High Prairie Bylaw No. 04-2021 (Mandatory Face Coverings) is currently in effect.  This bylaw excludes school buildings but students may require face coverings in town.
  •  Illness: As always, we ask that you keep your child at home if they are feeling unwell. HPSD has created a COVID-19 Symptoms Flowchart (p. 7, Re-Entry Handbook) as a guideline for parents.  Students will be sent home from school if they present with any COVID-19 symptom. . Children are required to isolate for at least 10 days if they have any of the core symptoms. The mandatory isolation period is 10 days from the start of symptoms, or until symptoms resolve, whichever takes longer. If your child has 1 of the secondary symptoms, they are to be kept home for 24 hours and their symptoms monitored. If the symptom does not improve or worsens after 24 hours (or if additional symptoms emerge), use the AHS Online Assessment Tool or call Health Link 811 to check if testing is recommended. If your child has 2 or more of the secondary symptoms, you must keep your child home and Use the AHS Online Assessment Tool or call Health Link 811 to determine if testing is recommended. Your child can return to school and activities once their symptoms go away as long as it has been at least 24 hours since their symptoms started. This is per the Government of Alberta’s COVID-19 Alberta Health Daily Checklist (For Children Under 18).
