Community Engagement Sessions

Introduction

HPSD is hosting community engagement sessions from October to November to gather input from families.
We will be asking questions this year on student codes of conduct and citizenship, technology use in the classroom, school year calendar options, course offerings, and extracurricular activities.

  1. How do you feel about HPSD’s literacy and numeracy interventions?
  2. What is important to have included in a student code of conduct?
  3. What does good citizenship look like to you?
  4. What would you like to see in our land-based learning?
  5. Do you think more students who aren’t performing academically to grade-level standards should be failing their grade and repeating?
  6. Do you think student use of technology should be limited in K-4 classrooms?
  7. Should students have a modified school year? (e.g., year-round schooling, school year begins August 1 and ends June 1)
  8. How do you feel about HPSD pursuing alternate programming in schools? (e.g., French immersion, Indigenous language programming, Islamic or Christian programming)
  9. How can we make extracurricular activities more accessible to more families?
