Northern Lakes College Dual Credit Bursary

Students must be entering their first term of post-secondary studies at Northern Lakes College within one year of graduating high school, and must have completed an NLC dual credit course while in high school.

2. Must enroll at NLC within 12 months of completing High School

The Federation Achievement Award (Gas Co-op)

Four award of $1,000

Children of co-operative members of gas utilities within the Federation of Alberta Gas Co-ops Ltd., as well as, children of landowners who are serviced by Member Utility towns, villages, counties, or First Nations.

1. Two (2) reference letters from any combination of teachers, employers, coaches, or ministers, provided they are not relatives.

2. A 250-word essay discussing yourself and your goals.

One scholarship: $20,000

One scholarship: $15,000

Seven (7) scholarships at $5,000 each

Open to all Alberta rural farm youth who must leave home to pursue a post-secondary education or trade. Please note a rural farm youth is defined as a youth who has lived on a farm in Alberta for the majority of their life and the farm is the primary source of family income.

 

Must be enrolled as a first-year student at an acknowledged post-secondary institution and not have previously started or completed a post-secondary program.

1. provide confirmation that they have or are currently living on a family farm as well as provide the farm’s legal land description.

2. Must have graduated from high school, have received their high school diploma, and be no older than 25 years of age.

 

3. A copy of their high school transcript

 

4. Must need to leave home to pursue a post-secondary education or trade.

 

5. Proof must be provided that the student is not living at home, i.e. through a rental or dorm receipt.

6. A photo which must be suitable for publication – a grad picture is ideal

**4-H experience is NOT mandatory to qualify for this award.**
